READY....SET.....CURE! Welcome! We're so glad you decided to join the "Diabetes Sweeties". We are going to have a great time together on Walk day, and we're helping to support a terrific cause. Let's walk our way to raising money for a cure for Kacey. THANK YOU to everyone that came out for the Walk to a Cure on 10-25-08. We are so thankful that the Lord blessed us and held out the rain for us. The weatherman called for 80% chance of rain...and we got a sprinkle and it STOPPED! I think he knew how much hard work went into making this day so special! We are pleased to announce that we raised nearly $2500 and the donations are still rolling in! The walk may be over but the donations to this cause are endless. You can continue to donate to our team and to JDRF through the entire year. Will your donation be the one to find the cure? As many of you already may know, we have a very personal connection to this disease that affects millions of children and adults each year. Kacey (age 8) was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on July 15, 2008. She was admitted to CHKD Pediatric ICU. As you can probably imagine, this has completely changed our lives! In an attempt to support Kacey as much as we can, we formed the team and decided to raise money in a hope to find a cure for this brave angel!
As an added incentive, remember that any Walker raising $100+ will receive a JDRF Walk T-shirt. With every donation of $25 or more you will receive a team shirt with the Diabetes Sweeties logo on it. If each of us does our part, we should have no problem reaching our team goal. You'll be hearing from us again soon, as we update you on the status of our fundraising and any other important news.
