Liliana Morrisey is walking with Hi Lili Hi Lo on October 4, 2009 in Portland, OR.
Dear Family and Friends,
Three years ago this June I found out that my daughter Lili had Type 1 diabetes. I can remember thinking that my life would change, but what I didn't expect was how much.
We have met so many families with similar stories to ours and so many people who are committed to doing what it takes to help raise money to find a cure. I am grateful for this network of people who I can count on to join us for the Walk, attend and help organize events, raise money, and understand the how important it is to keep the momentum going until a cure is found.
The JDRF is dedicated to finding a cure, and until they do they also fund research aimed at making managing this disease easier and more efficient. That is why I chose to support this organization above all others.
With your help and support we can meet our fundraising goals for the walk again this year. We have raised over $20,000 for research for finding a cure for type 1 diabetes. We have a team in Portland and Lili's cousin Cameron is captain of Hi Lili Hi Lo in Los Angeles. Our goal is for each person who joins our team to raise $100 and our team goal is to raise $5,000.
We will have new t'shirts this year for the kids designed by artist Amy Ruppel and some fun-fundraising challenges. The top two fundraisers on our team will get a special personalized celebrity autograph. We are sponsored this year by NWIBL: Northwest Independent Baseball League, and they will make a donation to our team each time someone hits a homerun this season.
Please join us in our 4th Walk to Cure Diabetes. We are counting on you!
Sincerely, Michelle, Tod, & Lili
