Hello! This year, the Anderson Admirals will be taking part in their 2nd annual JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes at school on October 23, 2009, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our goal of raising $105 million. We can all be an everyday hero in the eyes of a child!
Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people at large and growing percentage of them children.
Last year we were able to reach our goal of $5,000 and hope to exceed that this year. We will be having some great fundraiser nights at local restuarants, selling paper sneakers, and collecting coins in the classrooms too.
By joining our team we hope that you will join in the fight to find a cure for juvenille diabetes and help us to reach our goal. We also encourage you to come and walk with us on school walk day, October 23, 2009 at Anderson Elementary School and on JDRF walk day , October 24, 2009 at Mayfaire.
