Christi Krist is walking with James' Jaywalkers on August 6, 2005 in Omaha, NE.
Hello! This is our 4th year taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes walking as James' Jaywalkers. Along with one-half million other walkers across the country we will try to reach our goal of raising $86 million. The Omaha Walk takes place on Saturday August 6th at Elmwood Park. It is a 3.1 mile walk around Elmwood and UNO. It is a great time for the entire family. James is always amazed that all the people there (and there are thousands!) are there to help him cure his disease.
Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people¿a large and growing percentage of them children. James has had Diabetes for 3 years now. It is just a regular part of life to him. Having his young life so structured should not be the ideal situation.
There is some good news, though. For the first time, scientists are predicting that we CAN expect to see a cure well within our lifetime!
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!
Thank you for helping out! We all really appreciate the sacrifice. Take Care, The Krists
