Hi, Thanks for stopping by to provide a contribution to JDRF on behalf of Jason. Although the diabetes walk was held on October 18, we procrastinated and did not ask for donations until now. We hope we can raise $1000 by January 15, 2009.

Jason was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes (also known as juvenile diabetes) in October 2003 when he was just 2.5 years old. The initial diagnosis was devastating. But, with careful management Jason will be able to live a long life. But, to stay alive he must test his blood sugar several times a day and take insulin shots at least four times a day. He will have to test his blood sugar and take insulin his entire life or until a cure for diabetes is found.

That's why the Gorney Family is asking you to donate to JDRF. We want a cure for diabetes to be found so that Jason does not have to worry about testing his blood sugar, taking shots, and worry about the awful complications that accompany a lifetime of diabetes.

JDRF is a super organization that has been extremely supportive of families living with diabetes. Money raised from the walk will go primarily to research to find a cure and to advance medical technology to improve the lives of people with diabetes. More than 85% of the money raised from JDRF goes to research and research-related education.

We thank you for donating to JDRF!
