Jessica Hickok is walking with Springfield/Ozarks JDRF Branch on September 28, 2008 in Saint Louis, MO.
Hello! This year, I will once again be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our goal of raising $100 million.
Last year's walk was a success and I had 18 family/friends that did the walk with me. The support of these people have encouraged me to get the JDRF to Springfield. So this year, I am doing things differently. I'm not just taking my close friends/family but I am taking everyone that has been involved with getting the JDRF Ozarks/Springfield off the ground. Our group from the Ozarks has a goal to raise $10,000 for this walk. And we need your help!
Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of peoplea large and growing percentage of them children.
There is some good news, though. For the first time, scientists are predicting that we CAN expect to see a cure well within our lifetime!
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!
We're so much closer. Don't just support me. Support our whole team. Be part of us by joining us or donating today. For more information on our group startup go to: www.under120.com.
