Miranda Reed is walking with Team Trevor on September 21, 2008 in Lakeside-Marblehead, OH.
Hi! This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, on behalf of my son, Trevor, as we try to reach our goal of raising $100 million.
Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people and a large and growing percentage of them are children. In a one month period, Trevor fills a milk jug with syringes from the shots that he as to take on a daily basis. That isn't included the 8-10 times a day that he has to prick his fingers to test his blood sugar.
There is some good news, though. For the first time, scientists are predicting that we CAN expect to see a cure well within our lifetime!
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible to help Trevor and the millions of other children who suffer from this disease. Together, we can make the cure a reality!
