Sarah Edwards is walking with Bluegreen Corporation on April 10, 2010 in Boca Raton, FL.
Hello! This year, I'll be taking part in JDRF's Walk to Cure Diabetes, along with one-half million other walkers across the country, as we try to reach our goal of raising $100 million.
As many of your know, I lost my best friend of 18 years from this disease. Steve was 49 when he died. Steve lives on in my heart and I think about him every day. I do these walks with the hope that I can help at least one person. Steve suffered for several years before juvenile diabetes took his life. We need to find a cure and we need to find it now.
Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people, a large and growing percentage of them children.
There is some good news, though. For the first time, scientists are predicting that we CAN expect to see a cure well within our lifetime!
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!
